| UV coating can be one of the most powerful
tools in your product line. Choose a subtle pattern to add
a touch of class, or maybe a spot gloss to photos for incredible
impact. From shiny/wet looking magazine covers to attention
getting marketing materials, UV coating protects inks and provides
economical scratch resistance with tremendous eye appeal.
The process involves the off-line application of a gloss
or matte liquid coating to paper or plastic material before
being cured using ultra violet energy. UV coating is applied
in one of two ways. If the entire surface is to be covered,
flood coating is the preferred method. If you wish to draw
attention to a photo or other design element, the spot coating
will be used. Various thicknesses of UV coatings can be used
to create the look of thermography. In some applications UV
coatings can be an economical alternative to lamination.
Additionally, research shows that UV coating does not
constitute an environmental issue and recycles with no more
difficulty than other commonly-used paper finishing techniques.
